ENTRY GUIDELINES

Pathways for Every Stage of Your Career.

IATEC believes in accessible education without compromising on standards. We offer multiple pathways into our qualifications, recognizing that talent comes from both academic study and real-world experience. Whether you are a school leaver or a seasoned professional, our entry guidelines ensure you are placed at the level where you can succeed.

HOW TO

YOUR EXPERIENCE
COUNTS

What is RPL?

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process where we evaluate your existing skills and knowledge—gained through work, unaccredited training, or life experience—to grant you entry into a higher-level course or even exempt you from certain modules.

How to Apply for RPL:

  • Submit your CV and a portfolio of evidence (e.g., project reports, reference letters).
  • Map your experience against the Learning Outcomes of the module you wish to skip.
  • An IATEC assessor will review your portfolio to determine if your experience matches the academic standard.

ENGLISH
PROFICIENCY

As a UK-based awarding body, all assessments are conducted in English. Candidates whose first language is not English must demonstrate proficiency equivalent to:

IELTS

5.5 or higher.

TOEFL iBT

CEFR

Level B2.

Exemption

If your previous education was conducted in English, you may be exempt from this requirement.
